PhytoGenesis
A downloadable game for Windows
The creation/beginning of plants.
Note
If you aren't here from my blog: I am a college student that does game design, this is my first year final major project for college, it's part of the first playable games I've created using unity. Other than that, I hope you enjoy!
Features
A story and sandbox mode.
A hugely customizable plants, a few examples are in image 1 &2
48 different variables to customize plants.
The story mode consists of exploring a sandy landscape filled with ruins.
You find a Grimoire(image 3&2) Which you will then use to summon and grow plants
However at the start of the game you won't have much control over these plants until you find runes strewn across the world. When you find a rune and learn it a corresponding page in the Grimoire unlocks. While the maximum number of segments you can grow a plant depends on the total runes found.
The sandbox mode is in the same sandy landscape except empty, the Grimoire is fully unlocked from the start.

Grimoire Guide
The Grimoire is a bit un-intuitive to use, so here are some explanations of it's inner workings.
Start/end value + Change/Segment.
Every single segment that the plant grows it will transition from the start value to the end value by the change/segment
Shifted/not shifted
At the bottom of the page there is a variable called segment to shift. When the plant reaches the same number of segments as the segment to shift it will switch from the original variables to the shifted variables.
Angle range vs Angle bias
Angle range is a random amount that the next segment is rotated.
Angle bias is a constant rotation each segment.
All variables with 3 inputs use either x,y,z or r,g,b.
